I really liked our field trip to the Russell School and Walden Pond. The kids were so much fun and I think that everyone had a great time. My pen pal Deborah was so cute. She showed me her veterinarian magazines and said that she hoped to become a veterinarian one day. Her passion for learning was inspiring.
The fifth graders really came out of their shells when we got to the cafeteria. That math game was surprisingly fun. Visiting the school was definitely a positive experience.

I’m not really the biggest Thoreau fan but I loved Walden Pond. I expected it to be a lot more touristy than it actually was. Instead it was very simple and I think that’s probably how Thoreau would have wanted it. It looked like it was just an ordinary pond. Mr. Devlin was great and he really knew a lot about Thoreau. It was definitely the best field trip I have ever been on.
