I am Nick Tello. A student at Milton High School. But obviously, I don't identify myself as a student at Milton High School. That's just the influence of the system speaking. So I grew up a little differently, being raised by a much too loving mother and a father from peru, where things are totally different. So they did weird yet loving parenting, doing things like never letting me play video games, cutting cable completely, and not making me do sports. So I ended up being this odd kid. With two friends. And then middle school came and I ended up turning into that one kid who only wears black and makes an over accentuated effort to stick out as someone who is either too cool, or hates life. I had no idea what I was doing, but it got me the attention which I desired so much. Then I grew out of it. In eigth grade, I became some sort of awesome guitarist who the school identified as "that kid who is beast at guitar." So I ended up getting a few best friends and forming a band. And I took pride in everything I did. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I was always an "ego" kid, who took such pride in being different from everyone else. Freshman year, when I came to a new school, my leagues of followers and groupies were no longer there, and it annoyed me. I'd always have this secret desire to seek attention. In like, the most pathetic way possible. Sophomore year, I decided to relax a little with the ego thing. And it did me well. At this point, I'm naht gonna lie, I still secretly view myself as at a higher level than most kids, because of my cynical view on the system and my tendency to view things for what they really are, or simply to overanalyze them. It's pathetic and pointless, but I guess its how I am. Eh.

Thanks Nick. That might be the most brutally honest post I’ve ever read. Cool. Anyway, if there is any class where you can flaunt your disdain for the system, and your ability to look at things differently, this is the one. I can’t wait to hear your opinions on Emerson and Thoreau. I’m not sure if you’re the nature-loving hippie type, but you should at least enjoy them for their controversial, and fairly self-indulgent, opinions. Great to work with you again this year.
